Rowan: Blind Since Birth, Developed Many Skills Training at the Lighthouse

Rowan is a thoughtful, articulate young adult. Blind since birth, Rowan spent the past year training at the Lighthouse, sharpening skills needed to live and work independently.

Said Rowan:

"Before I came to the Lighthouse, I had the victim mentality. I saw other people who are blind be successful. I wondered why I couldn't be. One thing I've learned is that success is different for different people. I'm realizing I can do many things that I couldn't before."
